My daily make-up regime

When it comes to daily make-up, I go through different phases. It depends on what style I like at that moment. There are days when I don’t step out of my house without an eyeliner and then there are days when I keep it simple and use my blush as an eyeshadow with a little bit of mascara. For the rest of the days, I just apply a little concealer in the center of my face, blend it out and frame the rest of my face with a bronzer (including a little hint of a bronzer on the nose bridge), finishing everything off with a setting spray and voilá, my sun-kissed look is ready.

Make-up ritual for an event

The right shade of red lipstick is perfect for changing from a day look into an evening look. I especially love the mix of red and pink. Add to that a little bit of a shimmer at the center of the eyelid. At the moment I love some fine bronze glitter that I bought on my recent travels. I think that complements the look and makes for a glam evening look.

My most fun & fab look

It’s difficult for me to choose one as I have worked on many different creative looks. I love when I can be creative and use paint or other elements to create a look. Recently, I had to create a watercolour effect and it was quite challenging but I did it by using a straw to blow the paint in different directions to achieve the water colour effect.

My beauty muse

I don’t have just one muse. Instead I love to get inspired by different things and different people. I love to discover other artists’ works from all over the world. I am not a social media fan but one thing I appreciate about social media is how you can discover so many different artists from all over the world and see all their beautiful creations. So, I sometimes find myself diving into social media for hours and getting inspired. Be it dance, sculptures, photography or costumes, I love and appreciate art so much that I get inspired in many different ways.

My formula to change from day look to night look

As mentioned earlier, the right colour of red/pink or a statement lip colour can change a day look into a night look immediately and adds loads of glamour.

Must-have beauty products

Concealer, bronzer, lipstick and mascara. With these four products, I can create a day and night look easily. I love working with multi-purpose products. The lipstick especially can be used for the eye or blush as well and even the mascara can be used as an eyeliner or for a smokey eyes look.

My red carpet look for celebs

It all depends on what the celebrity is wearing and how they want to appear. Another major factor we take into consideration is what occasion the appearance is for. Accordingly, I suggest hair and make-up look options.

My ultimate beauty tip

Always take your make-up off before going to bed and keep your skin hydrated and nourished. A healthy skin is the ultimate base for a great look. Take care of what you eat because besides sleep and sunscreen, food too affects the skin a lot.

Ojas Rajani, Celebrity Make-up Artist & Hairstylist

My daily make-up regime

I use a tinted moisturiser and a creamy concealer by Nars and a lot of mascara for my face. For my hair, I get the tousled waves done.

Make-up ritual for an event

It has to be shimmer, shine and sparkle. So I definitely use a lot of highlighter by Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette; I get a well-contoured face with Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit; my must have for big event are fake eyelashes by Huda Beauty. Last but not the least, I use hair extensions as they add a lot of volume to my hair.

My most fun & fab look

The most fun look would have to be for the movie Robot with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan where I won all the awards for best hair and make-up. The ultra glamorous and fabulous looks I created for her were very well appreciated.

My beauty muse

My beauty inspirations are Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Malaika Arora with whom I have worked for most of my career, be it films, bollywood songs, shows all over the world and also endorsements.

My formula to change from day look to night look

A quick change from casual day look to a glam night look would be to change my look from matt finish to a glamorous, glowing skin finish and to use a pencil crayon on the eyelids smudged to create a perfect smokey eye look. I would also carry high heels and a black shimmer jacket as add-ons for a perfect glam look.

Must-have beauty products

My three must haves are: compact powder for dabbing, a refreshing lip tint for touch up and mascara for making my eyes look glamorous.

My red carpet look for celebs

The red carpet look is all about looking perfect and radiant so the trick is to achieve a very natural dewy finish as people see you from up close. The base too has to be natural and not cakey. I take a lot of care when it comes to hair which has to be chic; in Hollywood it is about waves and hair extensions. The look also depends on the outfit – whether it has to be western or Indian. If the outfit is loud and heavy, the make-up should be clean and vice versa. I either do a glamorous smokey eye with nude lips or bold lip colour with soft eye make-up.

My ultimate beauty tip

My best advice is: Your confidence is the best make-up you can wear. If you are confident from within, everything looks wow and falls in place.
