We’ve got Malini Agarwal, Founder-MissMalini.com, to put together cool style tips for boss lady looks that never go out of style.
I love my job and I’m so glad I get to do something I enjoy every day. And while playing dress up might be every girl’s dream, it sure does get hard at times because aside from having to be on my ‘stilet-toes’ all the time and attending several events and managing the entire business on the go, I have to also figure out the answer to the eternal question, “What should I wear?”
Dressing well and looking presentable are so important, but so is being comfortable because ultimately that is what makes me feel confident and gets me through a busy day. And in my case, it takes my dream team, who I refer to as my personal squad, to put together a great look for every single event and appearance.
Being privy to all of the behind-the-scenes discussions I’ve picked up a few things over the years. Here, I’ve put together a few style tips that have helped me bring my A-game, style-wise, thanks to my incredible style crew!
I hope you are able to take a few pointers away from these style tips. But remember, at the end of the day, dress for yourself and what you feel suits your aesthetic and body type the best!
Boss Lady Style Tip #1
You can never go wrong with a pantsuit when power dressing for any occasion. Let the outfit do the talking and avoid over loading with accessories. Choose stud-like earrings, these can be small in size or be statement-making depending on the scale of your event. And I always say, even the simplest of outfits can be turned around with an interesting pair of shoes. However, if you do wear a pair of heels, make sure they’re comfortable, especially if you have a job that involves a lot of running around.
Hair & Makeup Fix: When wearing a pantsuit, either pull your hair into a tight, high ponytail, low bun or slick your hair back so your face and outfit is in full focus. It relays power and security in oneself. Keep the makeup strong, with a bold pop of color on the lip or a strong, winged liner; make sure to load up on that mascara for the full effect.
Boss Lady Style Tip #2
Mixing casual elements like a t-shirt/tank top with formal wear, or a tee with a knee-length skirt/high-waisted shorts can really make one look and feel approachable apart from looking like a boss. Style a pantsuit with a pair of dress sneakers if you want to push the envelope a little more.
Hair & Makeup Fix: When wearing a more relaxed look like this, you could straighten your hair or even add some curl definition to the look by scrunching your hair with a mousse. Fresh face makeup is key, with this kind of look, play with oranges and pinks and add a bit of blush to give your face a radiant glow.
