Change in seasons, calls for a change in skincare routine. Environmental changes impacts the way our skin looks and feels at any given time. Summers means outdoors, vacations, holidays and travels, but it also means skin problems that come with the scorching heat and humidity. Is your skin ready for this weather? Give your skin some extra TLC to make sure it looks healthy and glows bright this season.
Healthy skin comes from the right cleansing and nourishment. While nourishing it internally through your diet is primary, a secondary way to do so is by cleansing your skin and applying a face mask at night that will work from the outside. Moisturize skin regularly to make your skin supple and even protect it from sun exposure. Use a sunscreen, before going out.
For normal to dry skin, cleansing should be done with a cleansing gel twice a day. Post this apply rose water or a skin toner. For dry skin, at night, post-cleansing, apply a nourishing cream on the face and massage it in upwards strokes. Applying serum is a great investment for dry skin.
Scrub it away!
Dull, lack luster skin is often the result of dead skin cells, dust and dirt accumulating on the surface. Scrubbing helps to remove dead skin cells through exfoliation as well as cleanse the skin and increase the body’s blood circulation. Mix ground almond with curd and a pinch of turmeric. Apply it on the face and rub gently on the skin and wash off with water.
Lock the Moisture!
A face mask can leave your skin clean and glowing. Apply 2 tsp of Aloe Vera and half tsp of honey on the face daily for 10 minutes and wash off with water.
Mix half a teaspoon honey, one teaspoon rose water and one teaspoon dried milk powder. Mix into a paste and apply on the face. Remove after 20 minutes with water. Suits normal to dry skin.
Mix honey with egg white and apply it on the face. Wash off with water after 20 minutes. For those with dry skin, mix half a teaspoon honey, milk cream and a pinch of turmeric. Mix into a paste and apply on the face. Leave it on for half an hour and rinse off with water.
Care for your hands and Feet!
It’s important to keep your hands, and feet clean. A good natural scrub for the hands and feet is to rub them with sugar and coconut oil or fresh cream. It is important to buff away rough and dry skin to keep your hands and feet healthy and soft.
