There are certain things every guy should know about, while taking care of his appearance. From how often you should get your haircut to how to wash your face correctly, these hacks will make any guy’s life a whole lot easier.

There’s bound to be at least one thing you didn’t know!

1. Always tell a new barber how long it’s been since your last haircut

Barbers know how long it takes for hair to grow, so if you tell them how long it has been since your last haircut, they can imagine what your hair looked like way back when. From there, you can either tell them that you want it to look the same, or describe how you want it to be different from last time.

2. Tailor your haircut to your face shape
It’s essential to have your haircut done as per your face shape. Thus, for example, if you have a rounder face, get a haircut that’s tighter on the sides. But if you have a longer face, ask for longer hair on the sides and around your temples.

3. Go about a month in between haircuts
Well, actually it depends upon your hair length. So, if your hair is longer it’s probably fine to wait a month and a half to two months, before you get your next haircut. But if your hair is shorter, you should go sooner.

4. Wash your hair only three times a week

Most hair professionals suggest washing hair at most every two to three days. Some even advocate abstaining from shampoo altogether.

5. Use sunscreen to do more than just prevent sunburn

Broad-spectrum sunscreen protects skin from the harmful UV rays, but this can also cause wrinkles and skin damage. Dermatologists recommend using moisturiser with a sunscreen component of at least SPF 30 for the best effect, as any kind of protection is better than none.

6. Learn the correct number of times to wash your face in a day

Hopefully, you wash your face every day. But are you washing it enough? Many experts recommend that men should wash their faces twice a day — and only twice a day.
