Indian Beauties Sizzle @ Cannes 2019

The 72nd season of the international Festival de Cannes, is on in full swing. Festival de Cannes is one of the world’s most widely publicised events and an important one when it comes to film festivals with a worldwide impact. The annual event that takes place in Cannes, France, is attended by global A-listers who add glamour to the event with their gorgeous looks.

A look at the stunning Indian beauties and how they set the red carpet on fire:

Priyanka Chopra made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday in a black glittery black and red ombre custom made cascading gown by Roberto Cavalli and shoulder grazing earrings by Chopard. She greeted the crowd with a warm Namaste. Her make-up was perfect with a berry coloured lip and graphic winged eyeliner. She left her hair loose and let it fall gracefully over her shoulder.

Deepika Padukone represents brand L’Oreal and has walked the red carpet for three years in a row now. Dressed in a cream-coloured gown by Peter Dundas with an oversized exaggerated bow and jewellery by Lorraine Schwartz, she looked completely stunning. Deepika had her eyes rimmed with kohl and an upside down cat eye, and looked elegant in a high ponytail inspired by the ancient Egyptians. She kept her lips simple with a nude pout.

Kangana Ranaut looked stunning as she walked down the carpet for the second time, representing renowned vodka brand Grey Goose, dressed in a gorgeously draped golden Kanjeevaram sari with a thin red border by Madhurya. She wore wine coloured elbow-length gloves which were custom designed by Falguni & Shane Peacock. She chose to wear a traditional Kanjeevaram saree for a cause – because of the situation of the dying weaves and poor condition of weavers in India.

Hina Khan, the TV actress, also made her debut on the red carpet this year. She looked ravishing as she wore a sparkly silver mermaid gown studded with stones with a plunging neckline and caped sleeves designed by Ziad Nakad. She accessorised her outfit with small minimalistic diamond studs. The star kept the make-up simple with pink lips and a turquoise eyeshadow which complimented her outfit. She walked the carpet to unveil her first look for her debut film Lines.

For her first appearance at Cannes 2019, Huma Qureshi – the Gangs of Wasseypur actress wore a trendy-meets-modern-meets-stylish embellished black blazer dress by Balmain. Oozing confidence and chutzpah, the actress gave the outfit a pop of colour with golden heels by Stella McCartney. The actress, who is representing the liquor brand Grey Goose, looked absolutely stunning and gorgeous in this number.

The diva, who never fails to mesmerise us with her winning looks every time she appears at Cannes, has done it yet again. For her first appearance, Sonam Kapoor (who represents the cosmetics brand L’Oreal) went all out and slayed in a dazzling red Valentino dress with multi-tiered frills and a pair of matching red stilettos. A perfect bright and vibrant summer dress. The rest of her look and accessories were kept minimal.

All that glitters is gold, well, atleast in the case of actress Diana Penty, we can safely say so. The actress made sure everyone turned their heads around as she made her sparkling debut at the Cannes festival 2019. She donned a golden tassled dress by Greek designer Celia Kritharioti and paired the dress with embellished sheer golden knee-length heeled boots by the same designer. The rest of her look and makeup was kept sleek and chic.

Looking like a mermaid straight out of a fairytale was actress Aishwarya Rai in a beautiful dual-toned golden green metallic fish-cut dress from Jean-Louis Sabaji’s couture. Her hair was kept sleek and straight and makeup elegant with the cheek contoured while nude lips complimented her overall look. The actress who is generally known for playing it safe on the red carpet took everyone by surprise with her unexpected choice of outfit which had many jaws dropped and eyebrows raised.
