Mango Mania: 6 ways to use mango for skin and hair

As summer is around the corner and we love summers due to our favorite fruit… Yup we are talking about mangoes. Cherished by everyone, mangoes have oodles of benefits for skin and hair. Rich in vitamins, minerals, fibre and much more, this orangish-yellow fruit helps reduce your skin and hair problems – be it, dark spots, blemishes or split ends!

Here are some tips for using mangoes as a remedy for skin and hair…

Face Mask

The Mango and Honey Mask

Blended with honey and lemon juice, the mango and honey mask will help you heal common skin problems, such as blemishes, dark spots, acne and scars.

Ingredients

  • Mango pulp
  • Honey
  • Lemon juice

Directions

Mix 1 teaspoon of honey and lemon juice into the mango pulp. Stir it well and apply it gently on your face. Let it sit for some good 15-20 minutes and then rinse your face with luke warm water.

The Mango and Yogurt Mask 

Who doesn’t want glowing skin! After all, glowing skin shows signs of a healthy face. Give your face a natural glowing look with the help of our mango and yogurt mask.

Ingredients

  • Mango Pulp
  • Yogurt

Directions

Take 6 tablespoon of yogurt and mix it with the mango pulp. Apply it evenly on your face and rinse it after 15 minutes with water.

 The Mango and Egg Mask 

One of the biggest skin woes we women face is wrinkles. And as irritating as these are, these face lines are something that cannot be completely removed or stopped. But we can definitely heal it! Try the mango and egg mask to reduce some signs of wrinkles, at the primary stage of its development.

Ingredients

  • Mango pulp
  • Egg white

Directions

Spread evenly the mango and egg white paste on your face and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash you face with water and pat it dry.

The Mango and Bengal Gram Mask

With summer just around the corner, we all know the first thing that comes to our mind is the beach! But just as much as we love the beach, tanned skin is one thing that most of us don’t like.  And even if its not the beach,  the hot glistering sun is enough to tan our skin! But not to worry, our mango, honey and bengal gram mask is here to reduce your skin woes.

Ingredients

  • Mango pulp
  • Honey
  • Bengal gram (Besan)

Directions 

Mix honey and bengal gram with mango pulp and apply it on the tanned area. Rub the paste on the affected parts and let it dry for 15 minutes. Rinse it and pat dry.

Hair Mask

The Egg Yolk Mask

We all know how difficult it is  to keep your long hair, silky and frizz free. Here’s a mask which will help you manage your luscious locks! The egg yolk mask

Ingredients

  • Mango pulp
  • Yogurt
  • Egg yolk

Directions

Take 2 tablespoon of mango pulp and mix with it 2 egg yolks and a tablespoon of yogurt. Blend it well and apply it on your hair evenly. Wash your hair after 30 minutes.

The Mango Gel Mask 

We all don’t like to trim our hair, especially when they are long. But all those split ends only make matter worse, leading us to getting a dreadful cut! But all this can now be avoided with some mangoes, aloevera and castor oil. Here’s how.

Ingredients

  • Mango pulp
  • Aloevera gel
  • Castor oil

Directions

Add 2 tablespoon of aloevera gel and 1 tablespoon of castor oil into the pulp and mix it well. Apply the gel on areas having split ends  and wash it off with your regular shampoo after 1 hour.
