“I
bought the magazine at 11 a.m. and within 20 minutes of dedicated

got cool, spiky hair, just like Yuvraj Singh on the WWW page.”

Is your hair acting tough just when
you need it to behave itself?
ANUSHKA PATODIA lists 5 hair
problems that you can now solve in
no time at all!
Roughing it out
Your woe: My hair is very dry, rough and thick. The
humidity in the air, especially during the monsoons,
makes it twice as voluminous. It is not possible for me
to spend hours every day on my hair, since I work on a
tight schedule.
The fact: “Dry hair is porous and absorbs the moisture
from the air that swells the strands and makes them
puff up,” says dermatologist Dr. Jaishree Sharad. To
avoid this, try the following:
DIY
- The best way to prevent this is to use serum
on your hair. Not only does it prevent frizz,
it also gives an instant shine boost to your
strands.
- Dr. Sharad believes that the use of a
humidity-protective gel before styling will
do the trick. It forms a protective coat over
the hair cuticle and prevents moisture from
getting in. You can also follow up with a
non-sticky hairspray for extra protection.
- A convenient tool to tame frizz is hand
lotion. Run a small portion of it quickly
through your hair. Don’t go overboard or
your hair will end up looking greasy!
- Sapna Bhavnani, head stylist at Mad o wot,
recommends applying a heavy leave-in
conditioner when the hair is damp and
letting it dry naturally to keep it in place.
