Where’s my brow, Bro?
It is one of those moments when you regret trying out something new. I had gone to my regular hairdresser for a cut, when he sweet-talked me into getting my eyebrows in shape. Full of apprehension, I allowed him to go ahead. Suddenly, my phone rang. Instinctively, I moved sideways to pick it up. In that horrific split second, half of my eyebrow got shaved off. I had to draw that eyebrow out for the next two months. It was terrible!

Could it get any worse?
The first time I got a Brazilian wax, I was in excruciating pain. After the ordeal, I wore very thin and loose harem pants wherever I went, walking with my legs apart. It had been raining heavily, which made it all the more difficult for me to move around with umbrella and bags in hand. I had some urgent work at the bank, and as I hurried across the wet floor (walking in that awkward fashion), I slipped and fell. Men in crisp shirts and ties came running to help me. I was so embarrassed! To make matters worse, my thin pants were drenched, had gone completely transparent and were sticking to my body in the most outrageous manner!

A la Gothica
My boyfriend, Sean, and I had hardly been dating for a month when he decided to have a pool party to celebrate his birthday. I was eager to make a great impression, since I was meeting his friends for the first time. For me, that usually means one thing — lots of make-up. The party was great and we were in high spirits. Soon, everyone got pushed into the pool. Somehow, after that, his friends got a little awkward around me and I couldn’t understand why. It was only two hours later, when I went to the washroom and looked into the mirror that I noticed my mascara had run — and badly! It looked like I was weeping black tears. Sean and his friends, who now know me a lot better, still laugh about it and have dubbed me Cruella de Vil.
