The cut you want
Cribbing about your new cut? Sad about your style? ANUYA shows you how to get the best out of even the most disastrous salon visit.

It happened to me once. I walked in, a doe-eyed girl, giddy with excitement at the prospect of a brand new, spanking haircut from a trendy salon.

I walked out looking like a shaggy dog.

You may think I’m exaggerating, but you could have turned me upside down and used my hair to mop floors! At least, that’s how I felt. And I’ll bet I’m not the only one who has been in this situation. At some point in your life, you’ve probably had a haircut that’s made you…um, “unhappy”, to put it politely. Here’s how to deal with it.

Damage control
Take a deep, calming breath. Now, assess the damage. Is it too choppy? Too short? Too flat? What is wrong? Then ask yourself — did you explain to the stylist exactly what you wanted? Once you’re sure that it wasn’t your fault, tell the stylist that you’re unhappy with the cut and politely ask him or her what can be done to fix things. Don’t make a scene in front of other customers, no matter how much you want to.

Although you probably can’t stand the thought of being subjected to the scissors again, what you can do is go in for an alteration cut; ask your stylist to change the style — for example, if you’re unhappy with your new bob, you can get them to add layers or a fringe.

As for the length, if you think it’s too short, you can’t do much except let it grow out. Unfortunately, there is no sure-fire way to make your hair grow back quickly, so don’t have any unreasonable expectations – it WILL take a few months, at least. That being said, here’s a cheat sheet that will ensure that it grows out stronger and as quickly as it can:
