These Celebs Have Perfectly Nailed Their Lockdown Bridal Looks

Which bridal look would you pick? Regal and modern like Rhea or traditional and mesmerising like Yami?

Till early last year before COVID-19 hit, Indian weddings were a grand affair which went on for days and sometimes even for weeks.  But ever since the pandemic began, life has changed pretty much for everyone in every way possible and this change includes weddings in a big way.

Thanks to protocols, restrictions and new norms, weddings have turned to become private and intimate affairs and the bridal looks have undergone a sweeping change.  And the best part is, celebrities have also joined the bandwagon.

We bring you two beautiful celebrity brides who totally welcomed the idea of an intimate wedding and chose to tie the knot without the usual grand spectacle. Their bridal ensembles? Traditional and royal– but nothing over the top.

  • Yami Gautam

Actress Yami Gautam married Uri director Aditya Dhar in an intimate ceremony in the month of June in Himachal Pradesh. The actress wore her mother’s 33-year-old deep red drape sari featuring intricate gold work with floral motifs on the blouse and a matching dupatta to complete the look, Yami wore an antique regal gold choker set and maang tikka along with a traditional Himachali Nath gifted to her by her grandmother. Overall, she looked timeless and mesmerising.

Hair: Hair was done traditionally in a bun style.

Makeup: Yami stayed true to her subtle makeup done completely on her own. For the face she wore simple black kohl, light red blush on the cheeks with red lips that enhanced her beautiful features.

Interesting fact: Yami’s hair was done by her sister Surilie Gautam! We totally loved her traditional look.

Rhea Kapoor

Bollywood superstar Anil Kapoor’s producer-stylist daughter Rhea Kapoor wed her beau from 13 years, filmmaker Karan Boolani in Mumbai on 14th August. While fans couldn’t stop gushing over the pictures shared on social media, we simply can’t stop talking about how gorgeous she looked as a royal bride. It was Rhea’s unique reception look that stole the show. Donning an elegant white chanderi saree with gold detailing by her designer friend Anamika Khanna, it was paired with a half-sleeved blouse, matching cape and a striking veil with pearls

Hair: She kept it simple with a middle-parting and let her long tresses flow freely.

Makeup: She wore a glossy brown eyeshadow with a dramatic winged liner and nude lipstick.

Interesting fact: Rhea channelled her Cleopatra vibes in a regal and contemporary look.
