Dot it Right

Polka dots spell fun, fresh and an uber chic girly look. Why not try these out on your nails?

Dotted nails can be achieved with a snap of a finger, with the easily available nail dotting tool out there. These tools come in different sizes, so you could choose what size dots you would want to create.

Fear not if you don’t have a dotting tool, everyday home items like the back of a bobby pin, tip of a pencil or the back of the toothpick make great nail dotting tools too.

Ombre nails

The ombre nail effect is a little messy to execute, but will definitely get eyeballs turning your way once you’ve completed it. All you need is a makeup sponge and 2 or 3 shades depending on the look you want to achieve.

Paint your nails with a base of white, on the makeup sponge then paint on 2 or 3 shades;  red, orange and yellow for the sunset effect and dark blue and light blue for the sea effect. Stamp the makeup sponge on your nails and voila! Your ombre effect is ready.

Tape it

This is one of the easiest and fastest nail art looks to create. All you need is the normal tape, and you can have two different colours to match your summer attire.

Place the tape on your finger tips either diagonally or vertically or any way you desire to add the contrasting block colour. And there you have one nail with two different distinct colours.

Shine like the sun

Who doesn’t like glitter! Nail art and glitter go like bread and butter. With the use of glitter you can create an array of looks.

You can choose to have a fading effect by starting from the top and going less with the glitter while you come to the tip of the nails or the reverse. You could also just choose to do the tips of your nails in glitter have an accent nail done completely with glitter. Or else you could also simply just draw a line of glitter in the centre of the nails. Don’t forget to apply a top coat to seal in all that glitter.

With these easy diy manicures, you’re ready to conquer the monsoon season!
